I started my first business in 2011 because life threw me a devastating curve ball I didn’t see coming:

Three weeks after my first son was born, my husband left me. 

In the blink of an eye, my life went from comfortable to extremely uncertain. 

Over the following months on maternity leave, I licked my wounds and planned my next steps. I knew going back to work would mean 9-hour days and excruciatingly long commutes in the car while my son sat in daycare. 

I became Wonder-Woman-motivated to start my own business, so I could be that hands-on mom who was there to bandage scraped knees and read extra stories at bedtime. 

I hustled endlessly for over 6 years working 60 hour weeks. 

But it wasn’t until 2017 that I started the current iteration of my business where I found real quit-my-job/hand-in-my-resignation-letter success. (This was after taking every certification under the sun, spending nearly $50,000 (going $33,000 in debt).

Here’s why this matters to you: Success should not take that long. I believe business success should happen far faster than most people will admit.

You’ll often hear it takes “10 years to be an overnight success.” People love to glorify the entrepreneurial struggle (and in the first 5 years of my business, this really helped justify my lack of success).

The reality?
